Are you cycling near Trafford, and looking for routes to cycle while you complete the Cycle for Carers Challenge? Look no further! Transport for Greater Manchester has put together some great resources for cyclists in the region.

Why not take a look at their Cycling Map of Greater Manchester, which lists cycle routes, cycle parking, cycling shops, and more? Or why not take a look at their Find A Cycle Path tool? You can filter to find traffic-free routes, or routes on quiet roads.

One of our favourite routes is Bridgewater Way, one of six new routes that give cyclists more space on traffic-free paths, quiet roads, and special lanes separated from the traffic. You can cycle on the canal towpath from Broadheath, through Sale, Stretford and Trafford Park, where you can pick up paths to Salford Quays and MediaCity. There are lots of cycling access points, so you can join the route wherever you want.

If you’re a train enthusiast, why not try the Warrington / Altrincham – Thelwall to Broadheath Rail Path? Find details of this route, and others from the Trans Pennine Trail website.

For more routes, organisations like Let’s Ride and Cycling UK have shared hundreds of cycling routes across the country, with routes suitable for every type of cyclist from beginners to experts as well as lots more helpful tips and information.

Everyone has been affected by Covid-19. But for people who are already struggling, things have become even harder. Many of our carers are at breaking point and they need us now more than ever.

Across June, to coincide with Carer’s Week, Trafford Carers Centre are running a fundraising challenge, Cycle for Carers, to raise awareness and fundraise for carers in the local region.
