Making Time for Young Carers on the 15th of March 2023
What is Young Carers Action Day?
Young Carers Action Day is all about raising public awareness of young carers and young adult carers and seeking to bring about change for them and their families.
What does making time for Young Carers really mean?
The Young Carers Action Day theme is 'Making time for Young Carers.' It highlights two points that are really important for young carers:
- the need for professionals and responsible adults to make more time to listen to young carers explain the challenges they face as young carers, so they can better understand the support young carers actually need.
- Once they understand the sort of support that’s required, responsible adults then need to make time to put that support in place.
How is Trafford Carers Centre raising awareness?
We'll be raising awareness for Trafford’s young and young adult carers by displaying their art work on the 15th of March in HIYA in Stanley Square in Sale from 12:30- 2:30pm.
The theme of this year's day and the art work is "Making Time for Young Carers”, which highlights the need for professionals and responsible adults to make more time to listen to young carers explain the challenges they face as young carers, so they can better understand the support young carers actually need. Once they understand the sort of support that’s required, responsible adults then need to make time to put that support in place.
