Guiding Professionals To Support Unpaid Carers
Professionals come into contact with unpaid carers everyday. People who are doctors, nurses, teachers, social workers and even business employers need to be fully informed about what support is available for carers.
Make A Referral
If you have come into contact with someone who spends a significant proportion of their life providing unpaid support to someone who couldn’t manage without them then they are a carer. They could be caring for a relative, friend or neighbour who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems.
Professionals can make referrals on behalf of carers so they can be supported and have access to service.
Carers Awareness Training
Professionals must be able to identify and refer carers as well as explaining how Trafford Carers Centre can support them. We offer free training to all professionals so they are able to successfully support carers.
